President

Sophia Ung

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, 3rd Year

1st choice: President, 2nd choice: VP Membership

As President, I would focus on building a stronger community and brand to align with our growing mission and goals. GT SWE provides such a wide range of opportunities, and I am excited to find innovative ways to extend SWE’s reach on campus and in the local community.

Sofia Vainikos

Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, 3rd Year

1st choice: President, 2nd choice: VP Membership

As President, I’d focus on expanding opportunities for our on and off campus network to grow and strengthen. By incorporating more of our general body and faculty connections into helping shape the organization, more diversity of thought and a greater preservation of our connections will exist. Additionally, ensuring that we collaborate more with GT and non-GT organizations as well as community programs of similar focus will help us advance our mission by working alongside a variety of populations that align with our goals and facilitate long lasting partnerships to spark future collaborations for years to come!

Industry Relations

Maya Harrell

Biomedical Engineering, 2nd Year

1st Choice: Industry Relations

Maya Harrell is a Sophomore from the Chicagoland area majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Spanish at Georgia Institute of Technology. She is running for VP of Industry Relations because of her passion for accessibility and equality in the workplace and commitment to professional development for herself and SWE members. She has many ideas on how to engage every grade level in industry events. She has noted that many underclassmen struggle to find internships and upperclassmen struggle to find full-time career opportunities, so she intends to diversify the company representatives and organize fun events for students to engage comfortably with recruiters. She also aims to strengthen SWE’s connection to current company sponsors and build new long-lasting professional relationships. A vote for Maya is a vote for opportunities galore!
